SEKOIA.IO analysed the latest version of the LockBit ransomware, offered as a Ransomware-as-a-Service (RaaS) via an affiliate program. LockBit 3.0, also known as Lockbit Black, was first spotted in malicious campaigns in May 2022 and a first sample was identified in the wild in early July 2022. We have also detailed LockBit's code similarities with the BlackMatter ransomware. SEKOIA.IO analysts shared their findings after studying the affiliate program advertised by the LockBit representatives.
